"Djerbahood". It is by this appellation that the village Erriadh on the island of Djerba, invested by artists from around the world, was renamed in honor of the contemporary art movement "street art."
150 street-artists of 30 different nationalities have settled this summer on the island of the Lotus Eaters to express freely their works via atypical "Djerbahood" an unusual project, organized by the Itinerrance Gallery in partnership with the Tunisian National Tourist Office, which will be intended to remain accessible to the general public free of charge for years in an "open air museum".
The website of the French-German channel Arte TV will echo this operation in Djerba through a series of 10 episodes from September 5 in "ARTE Creative."
The Grand Opening "Djerba Hood" will be held September 20, 2014, with the presence of political and artistic personalities from different countries.
